LAKSALICIOUS is the perfect place for those who want to enjoy laksa in a cozy and cooling environment. As the name suggests, this new place located on HuttonLane offers various type of delicious laksa.

Upon randomly stumbling on this laksa place online, the Buletin Mutiara team decided to give it a try to see if the laksa is really laksalicious.

“I really love laksa myself and I have always wanted to be able to have laksa in an environment where it is cooling so that I won’t sweat that much when I enjoy my hot laksa. I also felt that presentation is as important as the taste when it comes to food so that’s how Laksalicious came to be.” said Christine Ooi, the owner of Laksalicious.

Laksa is one of the Top 10 Best Food in the World and also a local favourite in Penang.

Their traditional Nyonya Assam Laksa with Prawn Cracker has a thick sour and spicy soup texture with such rich flavours and mouth watering aroma. Add some hair-ko(shrimp paste) and it will taste even better.

You will have two choices of noodles which is the thick noodles and the thin smooth noodles.

Spring Rolls are splendid when dipped into the thick and savoury laksa soup. However, the crowd favourite is the Crispy Cempedak Roll that has the sweet and rich cempedak taste when you take a bite.DSC_8650

Besides laksa and spring rolls, Laksalicious also offers pies, cakes, various beverages and home made desserts soups.

Their Shepherd’s Pie has minced chicken instead of beef but the balance of both the mashed potato and the chicken was so even that it made it taste so smooth and juicy at the same time.

The Chicken Curry Pie is also simply delightful as it had a crispy, fluffy and flaky crust with rich butter taste. The chicken curry filling is not too spicy nor too bland but rather just nice to compliment the whole pie.

The crackling sound of the freshly baked pie as the pie is cut to unveil the hot smoky filling inside was simply satisfying for the Buletin Mutiara team.

The Banana Walnut Cake was also heavenly as it was not too sweet but rich with banana and walnut. This is a new addition to the menu as it will be replacing the previous Cempedak Cake.

Various beverages are available on the menu and for coffee lovers, you should try their Iced Latte as it has a rich texture with a creamy taste. It is smooth and creamy and will leave lingering taste of a full shot of uniquely blended espresso on your tastebuds.

For those who prefer hot dessert soups instead, the Dried Bean Curd with Ginkgo Nuts that comes with a quail egg traditional dessert soup to cool down the body and it is not too sweet nor bland but just nice enough to satisfy the tastebuds. If you would like to try, their collagen drink with mixed fruit juice is also divine.
