PDC a motivator for development

YEAR 2016 is termed as “Transformation Year” which requires hard work, ability and integrity. Among the transformation programmes in Penang

include the Transport Master Plan costing RM27 billion which encompass a 5-in-1 solution to overcome problems of transport, traffic congestion

and the availability of good public infrastructure.

“We are proud that Penang has achieved outstanding accolades. To date, despite being the second smallest state in the country, it has claimed to be

the most livable city in Malaysia, attracting 12.3% of foreign tourist arrivals, 25% of total import and export besides having the lowest

unemployment rate in the country,” Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng told the guests present at the Penang Development Corporation (PDC) Chinese

New Year open house held at its premises at Bayan Baru on Feb 22.

Also present were Deputy Chief Minister 1 Datuk Mohd Rashid Hasnon, Deputy Chief Minister 11 Prof. Dr. P. Ramasamy and PDC general manager

Datuk Rosli Jaafar.

Lim said PDC has become a motivator for economic and housing development in the state.

“I am glad for the commitment and support of PDC for the last two years with its aggressive approach concerning its ‘Change Management’ in

pursuit of new goals.

“The execution of ‘Change Management’ involves ‘Balanced Scorecard and Prestige Management’, PDC Strategic Plan, ‘Risk Management’ and

Improvement Processes.

“From PDC’s five-Year Strategic Plan, the important component is the emphasis on human resource and talent in PDC, for future improvement,”

he said.

Lim added that important values and work culture at PDC play a pertinent part in development at various stages in the company.
