AIR Putih assemblyman Lim Guan Eng has continued to help community organisations and individuals in need through financial aid.
At a simple mock presentation held at the Air Putih service centre today, Lim presented contributions to three organisations: Pertubuhan Penganut Dewa Chiakra Phra, represented by Lim Tan Hua, Persatuan Dewa Houng Yie Shi, represented by Foong Soon Chai, and Persatuan Pertubuhan Cheng Yang DTL, represented by Chang Yik Zhen.
These organisations received financial contributions of RM2,000, RM3,000, and RM5,000 respectively. Additionally, Lim provided RM500 to Goh Weng Heng, a leukemia lymphoblast patient.
In a separate matter, Lim raised his concerns over the delay in tax refunds for companies, which he said could take three to five years.

“Tax surpluses for individuals are processed and refunded within 30 working days, demonstrating efficiency by the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN).
“However, this is not the case for companies,” Lim said in a press conference after the cheque presentation ceremony.
Although the LHDN has implemented several measures to address the problem, such as the ‘First In, First Out’ system, proportional disbursements, and refunds based on predetermined amounts, Lim noted delays still persist.
It is learnt that refunds for companies, which often involve larger amounts, are processed based on priority, with longer outstanding cases given precedence.
According to Lim some companies pay extra taxes to avoid penalties for underreporting profits but often face long delays before receiving their refunds.
As of June 30, LHDN had refunded RM9.35 billion in tax surpluses to over three million taxpayers, including 1,076,503 who received full refunds amounting to RM2.73 billion.
Lim urged the Federal government to improve the tax refund process for companies and encouraged affected businesses to contact his office for help and follow-up with the authorities.
