MPSP, Seoul sign MoU

SEBERANG Perai Municipal Council (MPSP) has inked a memorandum of understanding on Environmental Policy and Technology Exchanges between MPSP and Seoul, Korea.

Representing MPSP at the signing ceremony held in Seoul was MPSP chief Datuk Maimunah Sharif while Seoul mayor Park Won-soon signed on behalf of the city.

“MPSP recognised the importance of international cooperation in the environmental field and agreed to sign the MoU with Seoul to build a close cooperative relationship,” Maimunah told Buletin Mutiara.

Some of the points covered in the MoU include determining the specific areas of cooperation and the related requirements to develop environmental policy and to strengthen mutual cooperation.

Both cities, on the basis of principal of mutual benefits and equality, shall exchange and share necessary expertise and experience in ”waste management and Waste to Energy (WTE)” to enhance both Seberang Perai’s and Seoul’s interest and promote common development.

Indeed, MPSP has been recognised for many of its efforts internationally and continues to make Penang proud.
