PENANG First Assembly of God (PFAOG) recently played host to 24 charitable organisations with a Christmas drama presentation at their facility at MMC, 30 Persiaran Karpal Singh 2.

The drama, entitled ‘Premium Noah’s Ark”, conveyed the Christmas message of salvation, hope, trust and belief. The days of Noah were no different from today. Wickedness, evil, greed and such were rampant then as now.

According to the narrative, God saw all the wickedness the human race was exhibiting, and found only Noah and his family were righteous before Him. He told Noah to build an ark to save himself and his family, as he would send a great flood to destroy the human race.

As Noah began building the Ark, he met with great scepticism, as no one believed God. When it was time for rain to fall, God began to send the animals that were to be preserved to the Ark. Then God Himself shut its door. Only eight people — Noah and his family — and the animals in the Ark were saved from that great flood, and they began to repopulate the earth after that.

The drama, filled with songs and dances, was brought together by a team of over 100 church members, all volunteers.

A collection was taken from the audience each night and at the MMC Christmas morning service. Church administrator Molly Yeap, speaking on behalf of the senior pastor, Rev Marcus Tan, and the church board, expressed gratitude to both the public and the congregation for their support and generous contributions.  She said it was indeed a partnership with the various homes to reach out to the underprivileged, including orphans and the elderly.

On March 1, PFAOG executive pastor Rev Jesie Ngiam presented cheques to representatives from the 24 charitable organisations at MMC, with each receiving RM2,700.

Bertie Tye, co-founder of Eden Handicap Service Centre Bhd, expressed his appreciation on behalf of all the beneficiaries to Rev Marcus Tan, the pastors and full-time workers, as well as the church board and members, for their continued prayers and support.

“We are grateful for the financial assistance we have received from the church over the years through its drama presentations. I trust that what we have received will be used wisely,” said Tye.

The beneficiaries included Asia Community Service, Bethesda Home, Charis Hospice, Crystal Family Home, Eden Handicap Service Centre, Golden Eagle Nest, House of Hope, Majlis Kebajikan Wanita Pulau Pinang, Silver Jubilee Home, Penang Cheshire Home, Penang Hospice Society, Penang Shan Children’s Home Association, Persatuan Kanak-Kanak Cerebral Palsy (Spastik) Pulau Pinang, Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Neurodiversiti Pulau Pinang, Persatuan Kebajikan Shammah, Persatuan Minda D’Home, Persatuan Penyayang Warga Tua Pulau Pinang, Pertubuhan Penganut Kristian Baptist Bukit Mertajam, Pertubuhan Rumah Kebajikan Seri Cahaya Pulau Pinang, Relau Rumah Charis Bhd, Sekolah Menengah Pendidikan Khas Persekutuan, Sima Handicapped Centre, St Joseph’s Home, and The Penang Home For The Infirm and Aged.
