Cops, army receive token of appreciation for Hari Raya

IN conjunction with the Hari Raya celebration this weekend, the state government has contributed RM10,000 each to the police and Armed Forces for their services in Penang.

Deputy Chief Minister I Datuk Ahmad Zakiyuddin Abdul Rahman, who represented the Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, handed over the annual contribution to their representatives.

“The contribution is our sincere appreciation for their services all this while,” said Ahmad Zakiyuddin before the cheque presentation.

“The state government would also like to convey our heartiest gratitude to the frontliners from the police and army for their dedication in the safeguarding the people during the Covid-19 crisis.”

The police was represented by the deputy Penang police chief Deputy Commissioner Datuk Abdul Aziz Abdul Majid while the Armed Forces was represented by Brig-Jen Datuk Mohd Halim Khalid.

Abdul Aziz and Mohd Halim thanked the state government for their thoughtfulness.
