Tzu Chi shows unwavering commitment to the community

NON-GOVERNMENTAL organisation (NGO) Buddhist Tzu Chi Merits Society in Penang has never failed to respond to the call of duty in times of emergency.

The society’s commissioner in Penang Datuk Khoo Boo Leong, today handed over 20,000 pieces of face mask to MAKSAK (Majlis Kebajikan dan Sukan Anggota Kerajaan Malaysia) honorary secretary Affendi Rajnikanth.

Affendi, who thanked Tzu Chi for their kind gesture, said the face mask would be distributed to the flood victims in Kelantan and Terengganu.

“Whenever we ask help from Tzu Chi, they have never said no to us, and they are ever ready to assist the community.

“My team from MAKSAK would be bringing the face mask to Kelantan and Terengganu for the flood victims there.

“We are also bringing with us other necessary items donated by various organisations,” said Affendi.

Meanwhile, Khoo said it is important to keep the flood victims at the relief centres protected from the Covid-19 disease during such times.
