A different narrative for GE15

THE Penang DAP’s General Election narrative will be different compared to the narrative of the last General Election.

Penang DAP chairman Chow Kon Yeow, who is also the Penang Chief Minister, said that following the ‘Sheraton Move’ (in 2020), the political landscape is ‘so much different now’.

Chow speaking to journalists after the launching of the WCIT 2022.

“The political scenario is changing very fast. Hence, the narrative is going to be different.

“If the narrative is right, we can perform as well as in the last General Election. Regardless of what is happening, it is very important that we prepare the right narrative, are confident about the General Election, as well as, are confident to win again,” Chow told reporters on the sideline of the World Congress on Innovation and Technology (WCIT) 2022 at Setia SPICE Convention Centre today.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said there is still time to hold the 15th General Election this year.

“As I have said, every decision is up to the ‘Umno Top Five’. So, we wait for the ‘Umno Top Five’ meeting,” he said.

When asked when the meeting would be held, he answered ‘as soon as possible’.

“The meeting could be called before the tabling of the Budget 2023,” Ismail Sabri said.

Separately, he said that he had contacted the Health Ministry yesterday (Sept 12), informing the ministry to try to accommodate whatever former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak needs.

“Whatever he needs, we will try to accommodate. The Health Ministry will decide,” he said.
