RESIDENTS of Air Putih who attended the Mooncake Festival on Sept 22 at Penang Hill had a great time and one which they will remember for a long time as they were given a memorable treat of numerous activities for the evening.

From singing performances to tricks performed by Samuel the Clown, Latin dancers making their moves and Wushu exponents from the Penang Wing Chun Wushu Association performing real Wing Chun martial arts to the crowd and capped with a breath-taking fireworks display, everything was meticulously planned to ensure those who attended the event will return home with pleasant memories.

Among those who were present included Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng, Penang Hill Corporation (PHC) general manager Cheok Lay Leng, Air Itam assemblyman Joseph Ng and Bukit Bendera MP Wong Hon Wai.

“Pesta Tanglung 2018 is held in conjunction with the mid-autumn festival, a traditional festival that is celebrated by the Chinese community. This occasion is also a special day for family and friends gather together, tasting mooncakes and gazing at the glorious full moon that symbolises abundance and harmony,” said Lim, who’s also Air Putih assemblyman.

“Today, Pesta Tang Lung has become a joyous occasion celebrated by Malaysians of all races, and it allows people from all walks of life to gain exposure to the diverse cultures and traditions that are present in Malaysia. It is through mutual understanding and inclusion that we can live together in peace and harmony like a big family,” he added.
