Austrian Embassy hopes to work together with Penang State Government says its ambassador.

 

THE Austrian Embassy team comprising ambassador Dr Michael POSTL, trade counsellor Werner Somweber and honorary consul Berthold JUNGWRITH this evening visited Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow in his office in Komtar.

Their visit is to congratulate Chow on his latest appointment as the new Chief Minister of Penang.

During the visit, Dr Michael propose the possibilities of Austria working together with the Penang State Government in various sectors namely health, signalling/power supply (LRT project) and also in tourism.

Commenting further on sustainable tourism, he added that there is high potential for Penang and Vienna to co-operate and work together in this area.

Michael commented Penang as a very vibrant city in culture and the arts.
“So it will be highly successful if Penang were to be promoted as a preferred holiday and cultural destination in the Malaysia and Europe circle,” he stressed.

Meanwhile, Chow in welcoming the proposals by the team, hope further discussions and meetings could be arranged in the near future to meet targets set.
