A NEW attraction has arrived in Seberang Perai, at Juru Auto City, one of the most happening neighbourhoods, featuring the exciting kids’ theme park, B.Duck City Fun.
The city-themed pop-up park brought by One Universe World brings the B.Duck universe to life for visitors of all ages.
It is a six-month exhibition at Juru Auto City, offering immersive experiences, fun rides, vibrant games, and installations that bring imagination to life and fill the city with childhood wonder.
At the opening ceremony on Dec 10, State Tourism and Creative Economy Committee chairman Wong Hon Wai announced that this is the first-ever B.Duck activation in Northern Malaysia.
Wong shared that the event caters to all,families with children, young adults, and long-time fans of the Intellectual Property (IP) can enjoy the experience and create lasting memories.
“The park features a dazzling array of attractions that cater to all tastes.
“From the thrill of roller coasters and pirate ships, to the warmth of carousels and double swings, as well as educational and interactive games, trampolines, and fun challenges. Every corner is infused with childlike delight and laughter.
“It is a perfect urban leisure space for all ages, where residents can spend a leisurely weekend with their loved ones, sharing precious family moments,” Wong added.
According to Wong, B.Duck, a globally adored original IP, was launched in 2005 as a gift for children.
“Its iconic smiling expression symbolises happiness, friendship, and the innocence of childhood, capturing hearts worldwide.
“We sincerely hope that the arrival of B.Duck will bring warmth and joy to the daily lives of Penangites.
“During this school holidays, parents can bring their children to explore the park, creating cherished family memories filled with smiles and interaction.
“Amid the hustle and bustle of urban life, residents of Seberang Perai can re-discover the playful spirit of childhood and experience moments of simple happiness, adding a gentle yet steadfast touch of joy to their lives,” he said.
Apart from that, Wong said that Seberang Perai’s weekends are glowing with vibrant events that keep the city lively and energetic.
“This excitement has been building since last month. In November,the Penang government hosted the Penang International Lion Dance on Stilts Competition and the Butterworth Fringe Festival, offering breathtaking performances and fresh cultural experiences.
“We also introduced Seberang Perai’s tourism materials to Penang Island stakeholders and launched the new ‘Penang River Cruise’ at Juru Auto City.
“According to 2024 data from the Department of Statistics Malaysia, Seberang Perai’s population stands at 982,300 higher than Penang Island’s 818,200, reflecting its growth and appeal as a hub for major events.
“This weekend, the Penang Bridge International Marathon (PBIM) will take place around Batu Kawan and the Second Penang Bridge, uniting the community through sport,” he added.
Another notable event is the Klippa Orchid Show, which will be held at Klippa Shopping Centre from Dec 13 to 21.
To close the month, the Seberang Perai Chingay Parade on Dec 27 in Butterworth will showcase dragon dances, lion dances, and Chingay flag performances, celebrating Penang’s rich cultural heritage.
One Universe World chief executive officer Alvin Lee shared that since its opening on Nov 15, the response has been positive, and he is optimistic about visitor numbers during the upcoming school holidays and festive season.
“The games here are not extreme, making them perfect for kids, and they are designed so that parents can accompany their children.
“After a year of planning, we set up the theme park in just seven days. Next, we aim to bring it across the country, reaching most states.
“Next year, we plan to return to Penang with a new theme park, featuring a completely different theme,” Lee added.
It is learned that prior to arriving at Juru Auto City, the B. Duck City was held at Pavillion Bukit Jalil in Kuala Lumpur.
