Be sensitive to rakyat’s voice, says CM

CHIEF Minister Chow Kon Yeow has reminded his fellow comrades to pay heed to the voices of the ‘rakyat’.

“It is going to be almost one year after Pakatan Harapan became the Federal Government. I believe as leaders you must be sensitive towards the people’s voice.

“One of the voices would be concerning Pakatan Harapan’s performances at the state and Federal levels.

“As for Penang, we (Pakatan Harapan) are the government for the third term. The state government is formed on a solid ground as we have won with a big majority (seats).

“This gives us the privilege to implement policies of the state government as well as the local government efficiently since we have the overwhelming support of the people.

“We must continue to be sensitive to our people’s voice as there is no perfect government. So, it is vital to keep striving to give our best,” said Chow during the launching of the Pengkalan Kota service centre this evening.

Also present were assemblymen Daniel Gooi (Pengkalan Kota), Teh Lai Heng (Komtar), Lim Siew Khim (Sungai Pinang), Ong Ah Teong (Batu Lancang) and Penang Island City Council (MBPP) councillors.

Gooi vowed to give his best service to the people in his constituency.

“Pengkalan Kota is one of the constituencies that is undergoing rapid transformation as there are many developments taking place here.

“We will be witnessing an opening ceremony of an affordable housing project in our constituency tomorrow near Lebuh Cecil or Gat Lebuh Macallum.

“I believe that with the strong leadership of our party and also the state government, we can beat the odds so as to enhance the quality of life of our people,” said Gooi.

The Pengkalan Kota service centre is located at Block  11-1-1, Pangsapuri Pelangi, Lintang Macallum 2, 10300 Penang (Tel: 04-2501522).
