THE state government will continue to work closely with the Federal Government to ensure the smooth and timely implementation of all approved projects in the state.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow made this pledge during the DAP Deepavali Open House at Sunshine Central today.

He also conveyed his gratitude to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for approving numerous development projects in Penang under Rolling Plan 1 (RP1) of the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) 2026.

“The state government has received the full list of previously announced development projects, along with many other unannounced ones.

“I was surprised to see that many other projects requested by the state government also received approval from the Federal Government.

“This reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to development in Penang, which is a key economic hub in the country,” Chow said.

Chow added that details of the unannounced projects would be revealed after the upcoming parliamentary sitting scheduled for Nov 4.

“I assure that the state government will continue to work closely with the Federal Government to ensure that approved projects receive full support from state agencies and local councils, so they can be completed swiftly.

“As Chief Minister, I face this challenge together with my state executive councillors, assemblymen, MPs, councillors, leaders of government-linked agencies, and the leadership at both the grassroots and party levels.

“Everyone has a role to play in fulfilling the mandate given to us. This is what builds the people’s trust,” Chow said.

Meanwhile, Human Resources Minister Steven Sim, also the state DAP chairman, highlighted several approved projects, including the Juru-Sungai Dua elevated highway, the Bertam Sports Complex, and the Mount Erskine underpass, among others.
