The Deepavali open house was organised by Chong Eng and the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) Taman Sri Rambai phase 1 with a joy and fun on Nov 19.

“Today is Deepavali for Padang Lalang communities as we have our open house here which is even attended by different religious people,” said Chong Eng, who is also the Padang Lalang assemblyman.

“This completely shows that every festival should be celebrated with inner heart – regardless of religion and race.

“We wanted to make things interactive and fun for everyone. I believe that we all are one community even though we are from different religion.”

Besides that, Berapit assemblyman Heng Lee Lee conveyed Deepavali wishes in Tamil language to the crowd.

She said she was happy to be part of this festive celebration and most importantly she loves to eat good food together with everyone as a sharing of the celebration.

The joyous celebration was made all the merrier by the dazzling performances of cultural dancers. It was a spectacle for the crowd, who was also treated to an array of delicious local delicacies.
