GEORGETOWN – Penang is set for another milestone when it hosts the 2019 Professional Standard World Championship.

Penang has created a history in Asia as no Asian country ever has the honor of hosting two WDC Professional World Championships within two years. It is a record and a pride for Penang and Malaysia.

YB Yeoh Soon Hin, Penang State Executive Councilor for Tourism Development, Heritage, Culture and Arts said Penang was chosen in a vote by the World Dance Council.

He launched the 25th Penang International Ballroom Dancing Championship at the Bayview Beach Resort Penang on last Sunday evening.

He said that the world best Ballroom dancers form 32 countries are expected to join the 2019 Professional Standard World Championship and compete among themselves for world ranking.

Also present were the Vice-President of the World Dance Council, Yuan Bin; Secretary general of the World Dance Council, Hannes Emrich, and 25th Penang International Ballroom Dancing Championship Organising Chairman, Datuk Dr Henry Ooi.
