The Tua Peh Kong Temple on Jalan Trengganu is now 138 years old.

“This temple has long served the public and community. I’ve known it since I was young. When I was growing up, my house was just behind it.

“Since becoming the Datok Keramat assemblyman in 2008, I’ve helped the temple secure funds for various maintenance works. Over the years, the state government has allocated about a quarter of a million ringgit towards its upkeep.

“It’s important to note that the state government supports not just Chinese temples, but also Indian temples, churches, gurdwaras, and mosques under our watch,” he added.
