IN the spirit of Christmas, PAWE Jelutong (Pusat Aktiviti Warga Emas Jelutong) recently organised a meaningful community programme, spreading joy, compassion, and goodwill to those in need this festive season.
Through the programme, PAWE Jelutong distributed school bags to children, aiming to support their education and spread festive cheer.
The programme benefited several children’s homes, including Shan Home, Seri Cahaya, Ramakrishnan Ashrama, Vallal Home, and the Children’s Protection Society (CPS). It also extended the joy of giving to SJKC Kampung Sungai Lembu.
At the event held at Fifth Avenue Hotel on Dec 2, Madam Tan Lean Kee, the wife of Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow and guest of honour, delivered a heartfelt speech that emphasised the true meaning of Christmas, compassion, kindness, and giving to those in need.

The school bag presentation ceremony was held alongside a Christmas lighting programme at the hotel.
Tan emphasised the values of love, generosity, and togetherness, and encouraged everyone to continue caring for the needy, not only during the festive season but throughout the year.
Organised by PAWE Jelutong, this event reflects senior citizens can actively contribute to society while fostering unity and compassion across generations.
With Christmas being celebrated tomorrow across the world, such initiatives serve as a reminder that the season is about giving, sharing, and strengthening the bonds within the community.
Meanwhile, PAWE Jelutong president, Datuk Seri Lawrence Cheah, expressed his gratitude to Madam Tan. He also shared that the programme aimed to foster a sense of community while spreading the true meaning of Christmas: giving, kindness, and togetherness
