Northeast district police chief ACP Mior Faridalatrash Wahid and Brig-Gen Panglima Mardzuki Muhamad received the RM10,000 cheques on behalf of the police and soldiers respectively.

Lim in his short speech said: “With the GST imposed, the rakyat may feel the impact. So, the Penang state empathises and wishes to contribute to the servicemen and policemen for keeping the state safe. Although the amount is not much, we hope it will help in making this Raya more cheerful for them.”

Meanwhile, Mardzuki said: “Thank you to the Penang state. We will continue to cooperate and work with the state to ensure security and safety of the people as we are entrusted to do.”

“We are happy to inform that in the same period compared to last year, the crime rate has reduced by 26.1%. The police force will continue to carry out our duty,” Mior said.
