TO boost tourism in the Air Itam constituency, the Air Itam service centre has launched a special brochure that highlights six murals and a sculpture in the area.

Air Itam assemblyman Joseph Ng Soon Siang said the brochure, titled ‘My Home, Air Itam’, contains pictures of the six murals, their information as well as their location in the vicinity of the public market.

Ng said the brochure, titled ‘My Home, Air Itam’, contains pictures of the six murals, their information as well as their location in the vicinity of the public market.

“We already completed the mural project last year and now it is the time to promote it to the locals and international tourists.

“We will place the brochure in Penang Hill, nearby hotels in Air Itam and also our service centre.

The front page of the brochure.

“After that, we will also ask Penang Global Tourism (PGT) to put the brochures at the Penang International Airport as well to reach the international tourist,” Ng told a media conference at the State Legislative Assembly building today.

Ng wants Air Itam not only popular for several attractions such as Penang Hill and Kek Lok Si Temple but also for its murals as well.

According to Ng, he wants Air Itam not only popular for several attractions such as Penang Hill and Kek Lok Si Temple but also for its murals as well.

“I think when tourists arrive at the airport, the first location they will go is most probably to the Penang Hill and Kek Lok Si Temple before going to other places of interest in other constituencies.

“So, through this brochure we want them to spend more of their time in Air Itam by visiting these murals.

“As of now, the brochure is in the English language as we want to focus more on the international tourists, but if they scan the QR code in this brochure, they can see two other languages such as Chinese and Bahasa Malaysia as well.

“And we hope with such brochure, we can boost the tourism in Air Itam even more,” he concluded.
