SERI Delima assemblyman Connie Tan hopes the police will give Krystal Heights residents some leeway over recent parking summonses.
She said most residents are from B40 households, and a single summons can be a heavy financial burden for them.
“Krystal Heights has 932 residential units but only 464 parking spaces, leaving many residents with no choice but to park outside the compound for decades,” she said at a press conference today.
On Nov 24, about 40 vehicles were issued summonses in a wide-scale police operation.

Residents expressed shock and visited Tan’s office to lodge complaints, saying parking along Lintang Delima 14 had long been tolerated, with enforcement rarely carried out.
Tan said she has submitted a letter of appeal to the police, hoping they will consider cancelling the summonses.
She estimated that each summons ranges from RM100 to RM150.
Tan is also working with local authorities on a long-term solution to convert a nearby green area into additional parking spaces to ease congestion.
“We hope this solution can solve the parking woes in the neighbourhood,” she added.
