TO celebrate the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri in a lively atmosphere, more than 1,000 colourful lamps will adorn one of Penang’s major and busiest roads, Jalan Masjid Negeri.
The Hari Raya lights decoration is a joint initiative between the Seri Delima state constituency office and DS Asia Group.
Seri Delima assemblyman Connie Tan Hooi Peng said the installation of decorative lights started last night and is expected to be completed by tomorrow.
“Previously, through the collaboration with the same company, we installed 650 lanterns along Jalan Masjid Negeri for the Chinese New Year celebration.
“So, DS Asia Group has decided to do the same for the forthcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri by sponsoring the decorative lights.
“We hope when the installation works are completed tomorrow, we can enliven the Raya spirit and enhance the night atmosphere along Jalan Masjid Negeri.
“This is also the first time such an initiative has been carried out in the Seri Delima state constituency. And I hope we can continue to do so for all the upcoming festivals this year,” Tan said during the site visit at Jalan Masjid Negeri today.
Also present was DS Asia Group executive director Jack Loh.
Tan also thanked DS Asia Group for their sponsorship of the Hari Raya lights decoration.
