THE Desa Permata housing area now has one Automated External Defibrillator (AED) machine for public use, thanks to the Desa Permata Village Community Management Council (MPKK) and Bukit Gelugor MP Ram Karpal Singh.
It was installed at the Datuk Kong premises in Lintang Paya Terubong on March 24. Wisma Hui Yin Seh will only be installing AED machine by April 7, next month.
Penang Tourism Development, Heritage, Culture and Arts Committee chairman Yeoh Soon Hin expressed his gratitude to the Desa Permata MPKK for their efforts in getting a new AED machine.
He also thanked Ramkarpal for donating the machine.
Yeoh said the nearest AED machine was also installed at Bukit Bendera.
Also present at the ceremony were Penang Heart Safe Programme chairman Datuk Dr Luah Lean Wah and Desa Permata MPKK chairman Ong Swee Jin.
Yeoh also encouraged the residents to learn how to use the AED and the cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) technique.
The public is encourage to come for the installation ceremony of the AED machine at Wisma Hui Yin Seh.
