THE Sungai Nibong Besar MPKK and the Pantai Jerejak Service Centre came together once again to honour the contributions of the Wira Kuning (Yellow Heroes) from the Penang Island City Council in their area by giving them a lunch treat yesterday.
Sungai Nibong Besar MPKK chairman Shawal Ahmad said they resumed holding the treat this year after stopping the programme for the last two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We want to appreciate all the hard work that they have done for us and the neighbourhood,” Shawal said.
The programme, known as ‘Program Kongsi Rezeki Ihya Ramadhan’, was held for about 60 people at the Sungai Nibong Besar MPKK cabin. They were treated to some food like nasi beriani and soft drinks, and also given facemasks.
Also present were Pantai Jerejak Service Centre special officer Lee Boon Heng, Pantai Jerejak penghulu Muhammad Fizri Muhammad Fuad and MBPP councillor Mohd Yusoff Mohd Noor.
