DON’T miss the seventh Asia-Pacific Urban Forum (APUF-7) at Setia SPICE Convention Centre from Oct 15 to 17.

APUF-7, organised by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) in partnership with Urbanice Malaysia and UN-Habitat, is the region’s largest and premier urban multi-stakeholder engagement session.

It is also a centre stage for a future-proofed solution to strengthen dynamic partnership and regional corporation, as well as to act as a launching pad for solid actions for cities.

As a great platform to debate and conduct normative and analytical research on sustainable urban development, APUF-7 helps to promote advanced solutions to the region’s most critical urban development challenges.

“It is expected that policymakers from local and national governments, financial institutions, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), mayors, private sectors and public will join the urban forum to analyse, feature new ideas and discuss among each other to meet the challenges,” Penang Island City Council mayor Datuk Yew Tung Seng told a press conference today at Setia SPICE Convention Centre.

“The forum will discuss many issues related to environmental, economic growth, disasters and critical urban development issues which can shape towards a New Urban Agenda,” Yew said.

ESCAP deputy executive secretary for sustainable development, Kaveh Zahedi, said he was delighted with Penang hosting APUF-7 to help address problems and create a sustainable and liveable Penang city.

About 3,000 to 5,000 are expected to turn up for the forum, which is free of charge.

Those interested can register via online to be part of APUF-7.
