Better safety now for Mak Mandin students after upgrading of pedestrian walkway

THE safety of road users, especially students and staff members of SJK(T) Mak Mandin, has been greatly improved following the completion of an upgrading works of a pedestrian walkway in front of the school.

 

Bagan Jermal assemblyman Soon Lip Chee said the works on the 100-metre pedestrian walkway started in July this year and was completed this month.

“The cost of the upgrading project is RM200,000.

“This also includes drainage upgrading works in front of the school where we widened the drains from 600mm to 900mm as part of our effort to solve flood woes in the area.

“We also have repaved the roads (100 metre length) in front of the school.

 

“With the completion of this project, we hope the safety of the school students and school staff will be more protected from any untoward incidents,” said Soon, who is also the state Youth and Sports Committee chairman, during his visit at the place in Butterworth today.

 

Also present was Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP) councillor Ng Yee Siang.
