Charity hospital in Penang to open its doors this Sunday

KEK Lok Si Charitable Hospital (KLSCH), the first ever Buddhist charitable hospital in the country, is scheduled to have its soft opening this Sunday.

In a statement, its board chairman Ven Seck Jit Heng said the opening would be held at 8.30am.

“The grand opening will be held at a later date, which will be announced.

“We have obtained the necessary approval from the Health Ministry to operate KLSCH.

“Our specialist doctors will also begin their consultations beginning 8.30am on the same day,” he said.

KLSCH is a specialist hospital, which has its modern and state-of-the-art medical equipment and services.

It is a 50-bedded specialist hospital, located in the green lung of Air Itam, with a five-storey building and a built-up area of 68,000sq ft.

Its facilities include X-ray room, ultra-sound, CT-scan, intensive care units, operating theatres, dialysis centre and general wards.

The hospital is open to all Malaysians regardless of race and religion and it is committed to provide affordable and high-quality healthcare services to the community.

Registration hours are from 8am to 5pm (Monday to Friday) and 8.30am to 1pm (Saturday). It is closed on Sunday.
