CHIEF Minister Chow Kon Yeow has backed a call by DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke for party leaders to stop speculating about who will be the next chief minister of Penang.
Chow said he agreed with Loke’s remarks and hoped all parties would abide by the statement.
“I agree with him, and I hope everyone will adhere to it,” he said when asked by reporters about Loke’s call not to raise the issue of the next chief minister.
Loke had said the focus now should be on carrying out responsibilities and continuing efforts to serve the people.
Earlier, Loke, speaking in a Chinese-language podcast, advised party leaders to refrain from publicly speculating about the next Penang chief minister, stressing that the decision rests with the party’s central leadership.
