PENANG Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said witnessing Penang’s continued progress as he enters the final term of his service has been a deeply meaningful journey, reaffirming his commitment to the state and its people.

Speaking at the Tanjong Parliamentary Constituency Appreciation Dinner at SJKC Shang Wu this evening, Chow said the phrase “Penang Sentiasa Di Hati” (Penang Forever in the Heart) is more than just a slogan, but a trust and responsibility that he has carried throughout his leadership.

Chow said the phrase “Penang Sentiasa Di Hati” (Penang Forever in the Heart) is more than just a slogan, but a trust and responsibility that he has carried throughout his leadership.

“For me, the legacy of leadership is not measured by the positions we hold, but by the long-term impact we leave on the people,” he said.

Chow stressed that the Penang2030 vision cannot be realised by the government alone, noting that meaningful progress can only be achieved through close cooperation between the government and the people.

“When the community is actively involved, policies do not remain mere documents, but become realities that are felt in daily life,” he added.

He expressed his hope that Penang will continue to move forward with credible leadership, sustained social harmony and a brighter future in line with the aspiration of ‘A Better Penang’.

Reflecting on the past year, Chow said Penang had faced various challenges, moments of joy and hardship alike, as the state worked collectively to advance development.

“Together, we have succeeded in safeguarding a stable, progressive and people-centric administration,” he said.

As Penang steps into the new year, Chow acknowledged that challenges would continue to emerge but described them as opportunities to renew commitment and move forward with greater confidence as a mature and harmonious team.

He also took the opportunity to thank leaders and members of the Village Community Management Council (MPKK), the Women and Family Development Committee (JPWK), the Penang Youth Committee (JBPP), as well as fellow comrades who have remained steadfast in delivering their best for the state.

Also present were Women, Family and Community Development Deputy Minister and Tanjong MP Lim Hui Ying, Air Putih assemblyman Lim Guan Eng, Komtar assemblyman Teh Lai Heng, Pengkalan Kota assemblyman Wong Yuee Harng and veteran politician Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang.
