Committed to addressing local issues

FULFILLING his duty as the new Batu Kawan MP, Chow Kon Yeow spent his afternoon meeting some of the Village Community Management Councils (MPKKs) in his parliamentary constituency to discuss local issues there.

 

Chow, who is also the Penang Chief Minister, wanted to engage the MPKKs to understand and address matters which are affecting the local community in their area.

Eight MPKKs, namely, Bagan Bukit Tambun, Simpang Ampat, Ladang Valdor, Bukit Tambun, Sungai Bakap Utara, Kampung Valdor, Taman Sri Aman and Badak Mati, took part in the fruitful discussion.

 

Bukit Tambun assemblyman Goh Choon Aik, who also join the meeting, said the chairmen and secretaries of each MPKK were invited and some sent representatives because they could not make it.

Chow also briefly told the MPKKs about his responsibilities as the Batu Kawan MP and as the Chief Minister of Penang.
