A VIBRANT and engaging atmosphere filled Dewan MPKK Kampung Bharu in Air Putih today as the Community Madani programme brought together residents for a full day of meaningful activities and community-building initiatives.
The one-day event, jointly organised by the Air Putih state constituency service centre and the Malaysian Information Department (Penang branch), featured a wide array of attractions including a colouring contest, morning exercise session, free medical screenings, informative talks by various government agencies, and a marketplace showcasing products from local entrepreneurs.
Air Putih assemblyman Lim Guan Eng, who officiated the programme, said the initiative was aimed at empowering the local community, especially those in rural and semi-urban areas, by equipping them with valuable resources and opportunities to enhance their livelihoods and well-being.

“The Community Madani programme is about strengthening community bonds, promoting self-reliance and encouraging active participation among residents.

“Ultimately, we hope to build a more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable future for everyone,” Lim said in his speech.
He expressed his satisfaction with the strong turnout and positive feedback from residents, affirming the commitment of the state constituency office to continue the programme in the future.
Also present at the event were Penang Island City Council (MBPP) councillor Rohaizat Hamid and Malaysian Information Department (Penang branch) assistant information officer Salawati Mat Shariff.
