Education fair receives good crowd on first day

SCHOOL leavers and individuals alike, who are eagerly looking to pursue their tertiary education, can get themselves equipped with the latest educational programmes offered by top institutions nationwide at the Malaysia Education Fair.

The fair is happening today and tomorrow (April 18) at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre from 11am to 6pm.

Organised by Edu Success Group Sdn Bhd for the first time here, some 20 institutions had set up their booths, offering industry-relevant courses that would set schools leavers and individuals equally interested to accelerate their careers to the next level.

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and existing standard operating procedures (SOPs), the fair has received a decent crowd on its first day, with the visitors fully abiding by the SOPs.

State Youth and Sports Committee chairman Soon Lip Chee, who was present to officially kickoff the weekend-long education fair, said secondary education is increasingly becoming least sufficient due to the industry needs and rapid development of technological advancement in today’s modern era.

“While we all know that digitalisation has taken its commanding place in our everyday lives, it has become even more vital ever since the Covid-19 pandemic struck the world at large.

“That leaves us with no choice but to equip ourselves even better through education.

“As the world progresses rapidly, we see the significance of automation and artificial intelligence (AI) to optimise our feats.

“The pandemic is accelerating the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0) automation technologies that affect the manufacturing sectors, white-collar jobs in both front and back-office contexts.

“Hence, this also means that our future leaders, especially school leavers with great aspirations ahead, will need to equip themselves with relevant programmes that will drive the country’s economy,” Soon said during the official launching ceremony of the education fair at Setia SPICE Convention Centre today.
