RESIDENTS in Nibong Tebal! Don’t be surprised when you spot a striking six-metre-tall gold horse sculpture now standing proudly at the traffic light junction near C-Mart Hypermarket!
The impressive landmark was fully designed and crafted by Nibong Tebal native Kevin Loh Hoong Liak, director of Ledanim Sdn Bhd, showcasing local talent and creativity at its finest.

The sculpture was officially unveiled yesterday (Feb 11) by Penang Local Government, Town and Country Planning Committee chairman Jason H’ng Mooi Lye, who is also the Jawi assemblyman.
Also in attendance were Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP) councillor Ngoh Cheng Hai and Loh himself.
H’ng explained that the horse was chosen in conjunction with the Year of the Horse according to the Lunar calendar, while the gold colour symbolises wealth and prosperity.

“The gold horse sculpture also represents strength and unity within the multi-racial community of Nibong Tebal.
“With the presence of this sculpture, it will further attract public attention and position Nibong Tebal as an appealing destination to visit,” he said.
H’ng also expressed his sincere appreciation to Loh for sponsoring the project, which cost approximately RM50,000.
Meanwhile, Loh shared that the sculpture took more than a month to complete and was constructed using 6,304 polygon cubes to achieve a futuristic and distinctive appearance.

“We chose polygon cubes to give it a unique modern design. After assembling, the sculpture was painted with anti-rust coating and given final touches to produce its golden shine,” he explained.
He added that premium materials were used to ensure durability and to create a striking gold reflection under daylight, bringing his original vision to life.
