IN conjunction with the World Health Day, Penang Adventist Hospital organised a charity fundraiser called the ‘Charity Green Parade’, themed ‘Moving Together, Healing Together’, on April 27 at Queensbay Mall.

The event successfully raised RM344,594 to benefit the Dr. J. Earl Gardner Fund, which primarily helps provide medical assistance to patients requiring major surgeries.

It attracted over hundreds of participants on a sunny Sunday morning.

Kicked off in front of Coffee Bean at Queensbay Mall at 7am, the 3.5km parade trail passed by Summerton roundabout and Queens Waterfront Q1 before returning to the starting point.

State Social Development, Welfare, and Non-Islamic Religious Affairs Committee chairman Lim Siew Khim was full of praises for PAH’s continuous commitment in being a pillar of healthcare excellence over the years.

“Health is not something we should think about only when we are unwell.

“It is a daily commitment, a lifestyle choice, and a shared responsibility.

We must also recognise that true public health goes beyond hospitals and clinics.

It lies in our collective effort to support the most vulnerable among us; those struggling with poverty, illness, disability, and isolation.

“That is why events like today, remind us of the power of that shared commitment,” Lim said in her speech during the event.

She also commended PAH for being named one of Asia’s Best Hospitals 2025 by Newsweek.

“This well-deserved recognition reflects your commitment to quality healthcare, innovative services, and impactful charity work. PAH’s excellence extends beyond clinical care into the heart of the community,” she added.

Also present were PAH group president Ronald Koh and PAH chief executive officer Albin Phua.
