IN the spirit of the upcoming Chinese New Year, State Local Government, Town and Country Planning Committee chairman Jason H’ng Mooi Lye brought festive cheer to Jawi residents today.
According to H’ng, who is also the Jawi assemblyman, a total of 250 recipients from the Jawi constituency will benefit from the Chinese New Year voucher giveaway, with each voucher worth RM100.
“We hope that the contribution will be of help to the recipients, whether for purchasing groceries or festive clothing.
“This is as a gesture of sharing happiness with the people, and as the Jawi assemblyman, I am fulfilling my responsibility.
“The Jawi constituency also carries out similar initiatives during other festive celebrations such as Deepavali and Hari Raya, where contributions are given to families in need,” H’ng said.
H’ng was speaking at a press conference held after the voucher distribution ceremony at Taman Bukit Panchor Basketball Court, in Nibong Tebal today.
“As state assemblymen, it is important to fulfill our duty to the people who have supported us, and to provide assistance according to their needs”, he said.
