TWO prominent Korea-based exhibitions namely the K-Beauty Expo Malaysia 2025 and the 2025 K-MediTech Expo Malaysia are currently taking place at the Penang Waterfront Convention Centre (PWCC).

Organised by the Korea International Exhibition Centre (Kintex), one of South Korea’s leading convention and exhibition operators, the two expos bring global attention to Penang as a regional hub for beauty, medical technology, and innovation.

Held from Nov 20 to 22, both exhibitions feature strong participation from top Korean and international brands, innovators, and industry players.

Penang Tourism and Creative Economy Committee chairman Wong Hon Wai, who officiated the opening ceremony today, said the K-Beauty Expo gathers leading names in skincare, cosmetics, haircare, nail care, and wellness.

“The exhibition highlights cutting-edge industry innovations and global K-beauty trends, including clean beauty, sustainable packaging, and smart skincare technology, reflecting Korea’s leadership and creativity in the beauty sector.

“The expo also serves as a valuable international business platform, offering business-to-business (B2B) matching activities that connect manufacturers, distributors, and buyers across Asia.

“With product launches, live demonstrations, and business matching sessions, participants are able to engage in meaningful industry exchanges.

“The exhibition attracts professionals from across the beauty ecosystem such as salon owners and retailers to influencers and investors, all exploring emerging market opportunities,” Wong said.

He added that the 2025 K-MediTech Expo Malaysia marks the first Malaysian edition of Korea’s acclaimed medical technology and healthcare innovation showcase.

“K-MediTech Expo Malaysia 2025 focuses on advanced medical devices, diagnostic technologies, digital healthcare solutions, and hospital management systems, demonstrating Korea’s strength in medical innovation.

“The exhibition aims to foster collaboration between Malaysia, Korea, and the regional healthcare industries, promoting complementary expertise and mutual growth.

“The event brings together medical professionals, researchers, policymakers, and healthcare investors, creating a cross-disciplinary platform for the exchange of knowledge, technology, and resources.

“Technology showcases, seminars, and business matching programmes are being held to deepen cooperation and explore future opportunities,” he explained.

Wong also noted that both exhibitions are strongly supported by the Government of Korea, underscoring the close partnership between Korea and Malaysia in driving advancements in medical technology, healthcare innovation, and beauty-related industries.

This support, he said, lays a solid foundation for long-term collaboration in high-value healthcare sectors.

Also present at the ceremony were Seri Delima assemblyman Connie Tan Hooi Peng, Korea (Gyeonggi Province) International Relations ambassador Hong Sang-woo, and Kintex president Lee Jae-Yul.
