THE much anticipated townhall session at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre on the PIL project attracted the attendance of stakeholders, concerned residents, civil servants, elected representatives as well as members of NGOs who turned up in great numbers.

Differing opinions were raised with statistics and well-documented as well as informed points were given but what was admirable was the healthy practice of exchange of ideas on an issue of public interest and wide-ranging impact on the future of Penang.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow and Environment Minister Yeo Bee Yin both said it best when they concluded the whole intention, at the end of the day, is to find what’s best for Penang to solve a pressing issue – the much dreaded traffic congestion on Penang island.
