Lunch treat for Penang Hospital frontliners

A TOTAL of 180 boxes of packed meal consisting of nasi lemak and as well as ‘Yee Sang’ sets were distributed to the frontliners at the Penang Hospital today.

The packed food was sponsored by the Gleneagles Hospital Penang and distributed in conjunction with the seventh day of the Chinese New Year.

According to its CEO, Ivan Loh, the lunch treat was a gesture of appreciation to the frontliners for their contribution to the community.

“Today marks the seventh day of the Chinese New Year, which signifies the ‘Humans Day’. So, we decided to celebrate this auspicious day in a meaningful manner.

“We just wanted to share the festive joy with our frontliners here who have been working tirelessly during this challenging time by treating them to a scrumptious lunch.

“The ‘nasi lemak’ and ‘Yee Sang’ sets were specially prepared by the Dietetic and Food Service Department from Gleneagles Hospital for the frontliners,” said Loh after distributing the meals at the Penang Hospital.

Apart from that, Loh also shared that Gleneagles Hospital is in the midst of preparing the necessary facilities to treat Covid-19 patients.

It was reported earlier that a total of 130 private hospitals have been identified by the Health Ministry to be capable of treating Covid-19 patients with their in-house expertise.

“We also appreciate the guidance given to us by Dr Chow Ting Soo from Penang Hospital pertaining to the preparation of ward for Covid-19 patients,” added Loh.

Also present were Dr Chow Ting Soo (Head of Infection Control) and Dr Wong Peng Shyan (Head of Infection Disease Unit) from Penang Hospital.
