THE spirit of compassion and togetherness took centre stage as M Summit Group hosted its Chinese New Year gathering themed “New Year of Giving” on Jan 29, bringing festive cheer to about 100 guests from four welfare homes at the Skye Event Hall, Granite Luxury Hotel.

Group chairman Datuk Albert Moh See Eng said the celebration reflected M Summit’s belief that success is more meaningful when shared, especially during the festive season.

“Chinese New Year is about sharing joy and blessings.

“At M Summit, we believe success is more meaningful when it is shared. This celebration is our small way of saying that everyone deserves to feel remembered and valued,” he said.

Guests from the Cerebral Palsy Association of Penang, Penang Home for the Infirm and Aged, Silver Jubilee Home for the Aged and House of Hope were treated to a buffet lunch, karaoke sessions, angpow distribution, and festive goodie bags.

Moh also reaffirmed the Group’s commitment to community service, noting that corporate social responsibility remains a core value of M Summit, following extensive outreach programmes held in conjunction with its 25th anniversary last year.

He expressed appreciation to state Social Development, Welfare and Non-Islamic Religious Affairs Committee chairman Lim Siew Khim for her continuous support of community initiatives, adding that she also serves as patron for an upcoming fundraising effort for a new Bomba station in Lebuh Bakau.

Lim, who was the guest of honour at the event, said that Chinese New Year is not only about reunion and celebration, but also about standing together and supporting one another.

“This luncheon is not just about food or celebration; it is about reminding one another that no one is forgotten, and that care, dignity, compassion and support belong to everyone in our society,” she said.

She added that gatherings such as these highlight the importance of mutual care, while paying tribute to caregivers, social workers and volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes to support vulnerable communities.

“When we care for one another, even small acts of kindness can make a big difference,” she said.

The event forms part of M Summit Group’s ongoing CSR efforts, made possible with support from corporate partners and caterers, who helped create a meaningful festive experience for all present.
