OVER 30,000 homes will be made available on the mainland under the ‘Rumah Bakat MADANI’ initiative, expanding housing opportunities for Penangites and local residents.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, who attended the groundbreaking ceremony of SkyWorld, expressed his appreciation to the Federal government for introducing the initiative. It was also attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Chow noted that the prime minister’s presence reflects the Federal government’s strong commitment to Penang’s growth and a housing agenda that prioritises inclusivity, sustainability, and public well-being.
“It is hoped that the developer and contractors will complete the project promptly, comply with all regulations, and deliver the units to buyers in a timely manner.
“Hopefully, the launch of the Rumah Bakat MADANI programme will mark a milestone as an initiative that offers sustainable and affordable housing projects,” Chow said.
SkyWorld Pearlmont is the first project under the Rumah Bakat MADANI housing scheme, an initiative designed to support the B40 and M40 income groups. It is located on a 34-acre site in Seberang Jaya, at Jalan Todak, opposite the Penang Bird Park.

It is a joint effort between PDC Properties and SkyWorld Development Berhad.
Anwar shared that through these developments, he aims to provide the best for the people of Seberang Jaya and Penang as a whole.

“I hope this housing project will accommodate residents of all races, as we aspire to build a diverse and inclusive community,” Anwar said, while also commending the Penang government for its efficiency.
Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming said that SkyWorld Development Bhd has been tasked with building a total of 37,368 residential units, including 6,368 units in Seberang Jaya and 31,000 units in Batu Kawan under the Rumah Bakat MADANI initiative.

“The Rumah Bakat MADANI housing projects offer full condominium facilities at an affordable price. Each unit features a built-up area of 900 square feet, comprising three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
“Residents will enjoy a range of facilities, including swimming pools, gymnasiums, sports arenas such as badminton and pickleball courts, multipurpose halls, a kindergarten, surau, convenience outlets, retail shops, and a children’s playground.
“Two standout features of the development are Central Park and a Vertical School, which make the project uniquely community focused.
“Units will be priced between RM225,000 and RM420,000, and with freehold status,” he added.
