A DAZZLING Mid-Autumn Festival display has brought smiles and festive spirit to Seri Delima, with colourful lanterns, sparkling lights and a giant moon rabbit — taller than an adult — shining brightly at the junction of Jalan Yeap Chor Ee and Jalan Masjid Negeri (Green Lane).
The charming “bunny on the moon” installation has quickly become a local favourite, with residents and motorists stopping to admire and snap photos of the adorable sight. Many have written in to share how the decorations have brightened their evenings and lifted their moods, adding a touch of joy to the Seri Delima community this festive season.

Seri Delima assemblyman Connie Tan Tan Hooi Peng expressed her gratitude to DS Asia Group and Penang Island City Council (MBPP) for their strong support in making the festive display possible. The decorations will be taken down soon to make way for Deepavali decorations.
It has become a cherished tradition in Seri Delima to decorate the constituency for every festive season — a gesture that embodies harmony and unity. In past celebrations, Jalan Masjid Negeri, one of the state’s busiest roads, has been adorned with hundreds of colourful lamps during Hari Raya Aidilfitri and lanterns during Chinese New Year.

In conjunction with the celebration, a Mid-Autumn Festival event was held at Jalan Gangsa on Sept 5, drawing a crowd of over 1,000 residents. The night was filled with lanterns, cultural performances, and a heartwarming display of community spirit.
Tan shared that her wish as an elected representative is to bring joy and happiness to residents, despite the challenges many face in their daily lives.
“When we run our service centre, we often meet people who are going through difficult or heartbreaking situations. That’s why I believe in creating moments of joy because happiness gives people strength,” she told Buletin Mutiara.

She added that both the state and federal governments continue their efforts to uplift people’s well-being through people-centric policies such as SARA and BUDI95.

“The Mid-Autumn Festival reminds us of togetherness and gratitude. Over the years, this celebration has become a meaningful Seri Delima tradition — one that unites families and neighbours under the same bright moon,” she added.
As the moon sets on this year’s Mid-Autumn celebration, Seri Delima shines once again — not just with lights, but with the warmth of community spirit.
