IJM Land Berhad, the developer of The LIGHT Waterfront Penang, has opened a newly completed flyover to further enhance accessibility to its landmark waterfront development, marking another milestone in Penang’s urban connectivity.
The one-way flyover provides motorists heading towards George Town with direct access to The LIGHT Waterfront Penang, easing congestion and improving traffic flow along one of the state’s busiest routes.
Built as part of IJM Land’s broader infrastructure enhancement programme, the flyover reflects the developer’s long-term commitment to supporting Penang’s growth through improved mobility and accessibility.
In addition to the new flyover, the dedicated bicycle lane within the area remains open to the public, promoting safer and more sustainable travel options.
Motorists are reminded to adhere to speed limits, follow directional signages, and comply with temporary traffic measures during the familiarisation period, while cyclists are encouraged to stay alert and dismount at intersections for safety.
Earlier in July, the opening of the elevated road from Jalan Tunku Kudin (Bayan Lepas-bound) to The LIGHT Waterfront Penang further enhanced direct and seamless access for motorists travelling from the Green Lane area.

Over the years, IJM Land has steadily upgraded the surrounding road network and infrastructure within The LIGHT Waterfront Penang, laying a solid foundation for the vibrant developments taking shape in the area.
Seri Delima assemblyman Connie Tan Hooi Peng commended the initiative, noting that the improved access makes travelling from Bayan Lepas to The LIGHT Waterfront much smoother while helping to ease congestion along one of Penang’s key arteries.
“With each milestone, The LIGHT Waterfront Penang continues to transform into a vibrant destination that redefines Penang’s urban landscape while enriching the daily lives of its community,” she said.
