THE state of Odisha, located in eastern India, is keen to collaborate with Penang, given its strong and mature (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) STEM-based ecosystem.
This intention was conveyed by a delegation from Odisha, led by the state’s Energy Department Additional Chief Secretary, Vishal Kumar Dev, during a courtesy visit to Deputy Chief Minister II Jagdeep Singh Deo.
Responding to this, Jagdeep welcomed the gesture, emphasising that, most importantly, Penang has the skills and young talent to meet the needs of its 500 multinational corporations (MNCs) and nearly 8,000 small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
He added that Penang’s resilience amid global uncertainties, combined with its stable economy and innovative ecosystem, makes it an ideal partner for collaboration and investment.
