Over 600 delegates expected at 15th Rise Global Summit in Penang

MORE than 600 delegates from 30 countries are expected to attend the 15th edition of the Rise Global Summit of Tamil Entrepreneurs and Professionals, set to take place from August 15 to 17 at Butterworth Arena.

 

Organised by the Development of Human Resources for Rural Areas (DHRRA) Malaysia in collaboration with the Penang government, the summit marks its debut in Penang and the third time it is being held in Malaysia.

Chairman and President of the summit, Datuk Saravanan Sinapan, highlighted the significance of the event in enhancing global Tamil business and professional networks.

“This is the first time Penang is hosting the Rise Global Summit, and we anticipate participation from delegates representing the United States, India, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Kingdom, Indonesia, and many other countries.

 

“The core objective of the summit is to strengthen the global network of Tamil entrepreneurs and professionals, particularly fostering connections with those in Malaysia,” Saravanan said at a press conference held today at Bayview Hotel, George Town.

 

Also present at the press conference was Penang Housing and Environment Committee chairman Datuk Seri Sundarajoo Somu, who emphasised the comprehensive theme for this year’s summit, ‘Vaa Tamizha’.

“This year’s conference will focus on key areas such as business opportunities, human capital development and job creation, technology sharing and digital innovation, investment prospects, and the tourism and business sectors,” he said.

 

Sundarajoo added that the sessions will be conducted in Tamil and will spotlight 15 major sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, construction, retail, healthcare, education, real estate, transportation and media.

 

He extended an open invitation to the business community, professionals, investors, and both public and private sector stakeholders to register and participate in the summit.

 

“Registration is open via https://tamilrise.org/summit/. We hope this platform will contribute towards building a more inclusive and progressive future for the Indian community and Malaysia at large,” he said.

 

Established in 2018, The Rise is a global platform aimed at empowering Tamil entrepreneurs and professionals through networking, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing. With a presence in nearly 40 countries, it has successfully hosted 14 summits in nations including India, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and the United States.
