CHIEF Minister Chow Kon Yeow received a courtesy visit by a 12-member team from Old Xaverians Association (OXA) Penang.

The team, comprising its president Khoo Khay Seang, vice-presidents Koay Seng Chong and Saw Lip Thong and nine other committee members, briefed Chow on the brief history of OXA, which was once located at 50, Jalan Perak, and the activities of the association.

Khoo also shared about OXA’s corporate social responsibility in which the association give out donations to charitable organisations and education grants to needy students to further their studies.

Chow, on his part, briefed the OXA team about his recent trip to the United States and meeting investors and other relevant parties about further investments in Penang.

“The investors are generally happy to come to Penang. It is not easy to get new investors, but our prospects are good,” Chow said.

On another matter, he said the Penang government would continue to allocate funds to schools in the state.
