Penang aspires to provide conducive environment for industrial workers

DEPUTY Chief Minister I Datuk Ahmad Zakiyuddin Abdul Rahman made a courtesy visit to the Dufu Technology Corp Bhd at Bayan Lepas today.

The delegation included representatives from Malaysian Investment Development Authority (Mida), International Trade and Industry (Miti) and investPenang.

“The application of Industry 4.0 is extensive over here and this is the trend we want to see in Penang with regards to the industries. We are impressed and satisfied with Dufu’s technological advancement.

“We are here to check on what the state government has contributed to industries in Penang with regards to its infrastructure and facilities.

“We will also go and visit other places later on and today we have started with Dufu,” said Zakiyyudin during the visit.

Dufu Technology chief executive officer Yeoh Beng Hooi said the company intended to diversify its business from being the manufacturer of the disc components to other businesses.

The delegation, headed by Zakiyyudin, was taken on a tour at the company’s plant which covered the product assembly of the optical unit and the machining production.

Zakiyyudin shared that the state government did not only desire to provide a conducive environment for the industries but for its manpower as well.

“We want to also ensure that the employees have a good working environment, so that they do not get strained with work.

“Perhaps our future industrial park will offer a serene atmosphere for the employees such as eateries and relaxing corner.

“This will prevent them from going back home stressed up,” added Zakiyyudin, who said this concept is line with Penang 2030 vision which focuses on family.
