THE Penang government has announced a special financial aid package for civil servants, comprising 0.75 months’ salary or a minimum payment of RM1,000, to be disbursed in December.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow (PH–Padang Kota) said the aid is a gesture of appreciation for the state’s 3,954 civil servants for their dedication and service.

“In addition, a one-off special assistance of RM300 will be provided to supervisors, teachers and staff of Quran and Fardhu Ain classes, religious primary and secondary schools, government-aided religious schools, tahfiz institutions, pondok schools, Islamic kindergartens, as well as Chinese private schools, benefiting a total of 3,358 recipients,” he said.

Chow added that the combined financial implication for the civil servant aid and the RM300 one-off assistance amounts to RM11.49 million, which will be paid out in December 2025.

He made the announcement while tabling the Penang Budget 2026 at the Penang State Legislative Assembly in Light Street today.
