PENANG’S three main dams have recorded a sharp rise in water levels following several days of heavy rain, with the Air Itam Dam now almost full at 98.2% capacity.
The Mengkuang Dam currently stands at 90.8%, while the Teluk Bahang Dam has reached 74.6%, marking a healthy recovery after months of low levels during the dry season.
According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), Penang can expect clear skies over the next five days, from Oct 28 to Nov 1, with average temperatures ranging between 25°C and 32°C.

The department added that from Nov 2 to 3, the weather may turn partly cloudy with possible afternoon thunderstorms, although mornings and evenings are expected to remain clear.
As of Oct 26, no warnings of tropical storms or prolonged rainfall have been issued. The public has been advised not to worry about the recent spell of rain continuing into next week.
