THE state government here has acquired a total of 15 units of Toyota Camry 2.5V (AT) (CBU) cars for official use this year, at a total cost of RM3.31 million, inclusive of sales tax and excise duty.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow shared this during the State Legislative Assembly Sitting at the State Assembly Building in Light Street today.

Chow’s (PH – Padang Kota) response came as an answer to a written question by Lim Guan Eng (PH – Air Putih)

Chow said the vehicles were purchased to replace the previously used state cars, which were last acquired in 2020.

“The 15 vehicles are allocated for the official use of 10 state executive councillors and three ex-officio members, namely the Penang State Secretary, the Penang State Legal Adviser, and the Penang State Financial Officer.

“Another two is for the official use of the State Legislative Assembly Speaker, state Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker,” Chow told reporters during a brief media conference earlier.
