THE Penang Green Summit (PGS) 2025, scheduled from Oct 31 to Nov 1 at the brand-new Penang Waterfront Convention Centre, is set to be the northern region’s largest event dedicated to advancing climate action.
Bringing together leaders from government, industry, and communities, the summit aims to deliver tangible outcomes in sustainable energy, green financing, and practical tools to support Penang’s industries.
At a recent press conference, Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow emphasised that Penang must lead the charge in energy transition to remain competitive and resilient in the years ahead.

Held under the theme ‘Moving Towards Sustainable Energy’, PGS 2025 will focus on actionable strategies and capacity-building for a low-carbon future, including:
- Green financing solutions to support sustainable projects.
- Cutting-edge tools and technologies for businesses.
- Dynamic discussions presenting concrete strategies from regional leaders.
- Networking opportunities with policymakers and innovators.
The summit will also offer valuable professional development, including HRD Corp claimable courses, 6 BEM CPD hours for engineers, and 5 LAM CPD points for architects, making it an essential platform for professionals across Penang’s industries.
Organised by the Penang Green Council (PGC) in partnership with Penang Island City Council (MBPP) and Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP), and supported by strategic partners, the Institute of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) and Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM), the summit will unite all sectors in shaping Penang’s sustainable future.
According to PCG general manager Josephine Tan, this year’s summit will feature about 30 exhibitors, each showcasing cutting-edge innovations in renewable energy, green mobility, energy efficiency, and sustainable urban development.
The public can experience a range of interactive exhibits, including Tech Dome Penang’s art displays, T-shirt silk-screen printing, and eco-friendly showcases. The summit will culminate with a Gala Dinner featuring an awards presentation, networking sessions, and a comedy performance by Harith Iskander.
