PLUS launches RFID for toll payments, come Dec 15.

IN an effort to offer more convenience and options to drivers at Penang Bridge, Butterworth-Kulim Expressway and Jitra in the future, PLUS will be launching a public pilot
for it’s PLUS RFID open payment system beginning December 15.

The launch of the PLUS RFID public pilot programme also marks PLUS efforts to support the vision of the Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA) towards modernising the nation’s highways to be world class in terms of safety, efficiency and quality.

‌Azman Ismail said: ” The PLUS RFID public pilot, aimed at increasing options for drivers to pay toll on PLUS-operated highways in the future, is in line with PLUS’mission to deliver intuitive and positive travel experiences for Malaysian communities on the move through technology and
innovation.”

‌”When fully implemented, the PLUS RFID will give Malaysian drivers freedom of choice and more convenience at minimising delays caused by insufficient balance or failure to top up, ” added Azman in his speech at the launch at Queens Bay Mall on Nov 24.

‌Also present were exco for Tourism Development, and Heritage, Culture and Arts Yeoh Soon Hin and representatives from MHA, Microsoft, Visa, MasterCard , Maybank and TERAS.
